One of the leading Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) firm in the country, Transcom Asia sets to expand operation in Bacolod starting August 1.


Transcom City Bacolod will hire 2,000 call center agents to fill in their 1,000-seat facility located at the Transcom City Complex which also has sports, recreational and wellness facilities for employees.

The good news was shared by Transcom officials last July 15 during the firm’s media launched.

"We have arrived. The plan has been in the making for more than a year," says Transcom Philippine manager, Siva Subramaniam as he introduced the group of about 30 initial hires, who are now being trained to man its Bacolod operations.

Subramaniam added that Transcom Center Bacolod is expected to be “fully finished by the end of 2009”.

Duncan Cowie, regional general manager for North America and Asia Pacific, said that Transcom Center Bacolod will be inaugurated in October. It will be the 14th site to be accredited by the Philippine Economic Zone Authority in Bacolod, and once issued a presidential proclamation, will be the eighth information technology zone in the city.

As of this writing, Transcom Asia has 3,200 employees at its 2,200-seat facility in Pasig. The firm’s workforce increased five times since they started operations early last year, when they only had 700 employees.

Vestas Group IT creates business value by providing world-class IT solutions, in conjunction with offering local and centralized support to the entire Vestas organization. Service Delivery is a function in Group IT which is overall responsible for assuring stability, consistency and quality of Vestas IT solutions in the productive environment.  The responsibility includes incident, problem and change management within agreed upon Service Level Agreements (SLA) as well as consulting services to the business.  The SAP- Service team covers all IT support and services related to “SAP Customer Services” including interfaces and mobile solutions.

Responsibilities and Tasks:
• Assure process compliance

• Resolve incidents, problems and requests for services according to Vestas prioritization
• Perform solution testing and documentation
• Ensure adherence to global templates and standard SAP functionality
• Keep customization reduced to a minimum
• Accept guidance and show the willingness to grow expertise
• Analyze business processes, recommend and implement systems improvements or enhancements.
• Provide timely and reasonable estimate on work effort

Qualification and Work Experience:
• IT and/or Business related education

• 2+ years of experience as CS consultant. Besides functional expertise in the respective application, fair integration and business process knowledge is expected.
• Solid functional knowledge in the CS area, specifically as follows:
o Customer Service Process
o Quotations
o Customer Service Basic Data
o Business Partners
o Service Organization
o Installations
o Measuring Points and Counters
o Information System
o Service Execution
o Service Contract Management
o Mobile Scenarios
o Inventory Management
o Goods movements
o Delivery Management including Picking, Packing and Goods issue

• One or more of the following Vestas competence areas is an advantage: Sales & Distribution, Material Management, Advanced Planning Optimization (APO)
• Minimum of 2 full lifecycle implementation of a project is a must.
